My Work.

My practice as a softgoods designer explores the duality between technical outdoor gear and luxury bag design. From self-teaching industrial sewing to developing functional backpacks and refined leather goods, I merge performance, craftsmanship, and aesthetics, creating versatile products that balance material innovation, functionality, and contemporary design.

This project explores Japanese-inspired leatherwork, transitioning from technical softgoods to refined craftsmanship. Inspired by high fashion minimalism, the tote emphasises elegant simplicity, geometric form, and material quality. Prototyping revealed leather’s unique challenges, natural variation, precision sewing, and detailed finishing, ultimately producing a versatile, understated bag.

Japanese Inspired Tote

Arc’teryx Bag Exploration

This project reimagines the tote through an Arc’teryx perspective, taking a form rarely explored by the brand. Drawing on historic research and my observations working within Arc’teryx, I developed four distinct style directions that tested unfamiliar materials, aesthetics, and construction techniques. The project highlights how a simple tote can shift across functions and identities.
